MANAMA, Bahrain — Two U.S. Naval supply ships have collided in the Gulf of Aden, the U.S. Navy reports. No injuries were reported.

MANAMA, Bahrain — Two U.S. Naval supply ships have collided in the Gulf of Aden, the U.S. Navy reports. No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred at 5:26 a.m. Thursday Greenwich Mean Time (7:26 p.m. Wednesday Hawaii Standard Time). USNS Amelia Earhart (T-AKE 6) and USNS Walter S. Diehl (T-AO 193) collided as they were beginning an underway replenishment operation, according to the Navy.

Initial reports indicate only minor damage to both ships. The ships are operating under their own power and are continuing their assigned missions.

The Navy says it will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
